Parenting -Our Job?? or The Government!!!

The definition of a parent is father or mother now this can include all of us who take on the role of being the primary caregiver of a child. This definition does not say the government of the people who have children are the parents of those children. I realize there are people out there who welcome the government telling them how to do this and that and there are also those who are to lazy to care as long as it is not there responsibility.BUT, I believe those of us who are parents take the job pretty seriously. Sure we make mistakes and we wish we had done this or not done that. We as parents want to have the say on what our childrens’ lives are like. We do not want the government picking and choosing for our families. It seems like everyday the government is becoming more intrusive in our families. The government, federal, state , or local. seems to be leaning more and more toward regulating everything from food to what kids can draw in school. We all realize there has to be rules and regulations but what happened to people being responsible for their families and make good choices. People can be intelligent and can make good decisions based on information they have learned in their life experiences and education. We all do not do it the same and that is okay. We are a diversified nation. It is quite distressing that drawing the American flag in school becomes a news worthy story. That flag is a symbol of what our nation stands for and that flag leads many American soldier home. Why? As parents we try to teach our kids do not whine-pay attention-stand strong and take a stand. How can our children take a stand and make choices if the lines keep changing as they work toward making us all the same. Pay attention Parents stay active in your schools and be aware of what your child is exposed to everywhere. Parents  don’t allow them to be streamlined in the system. My grandfather told me when I started having children that children are like a garden you plant the seed, water and nurture, pull the weeds and tend to it to produce the best possible results.

Until Next Time,
